Shelby Cobra Items On eBay

The Shelby Cobra is a legendary automobile designed and built by Carroll Shelby and it first saw the light of day back in 1962. I didn’t know this, but the first Cobras were built in England and eventually brought to California to be fitted with their engines and transmissions by Carroll Shelby’s shop. Only 1,000 of these original legendary cars were built between the years 1962 to 1968 and there are nearly 40,000 replicas on the road today proving how popular this car was. Prices for these replicas range from $60,000 up to $150,000. Original Shelby Cobras can go for over $1 million and Carroll Shelby’s personal car sold for $5.5 million back in January of 2007.

Wreck Of Ferrari Enzo Gets Weird

Not too many people survive a car crash at 162 mph. Stefan Eriksson did, but now he is under arrest for possibly stealing the Ferrari Enzo he trashed valued at more than $1 million.

Eriksson wrecked the Ferrari on February 20th and told police a far fetched story about a mystery driver named Dietrich that ran off into the surrounding hills after the crash. Eriksson claimed he was just the innocent passenger in the car. A 3 hour search for Dietrich turned up unfruitful, big surprise.

Back in March Eriksson’s wife had a Mercedes SLR McLaren (as featured on the masthead of Cars And Car Reviews) impounded for improper exportation from Britain.

All I can say is WOW! Imagine being so rich you can wrack-up $1.5 million worth of legal troubles in less than 2 months. Most people will never see $1.5 million in their entire lifetime and Mr Stefan Eriksson and his wife just lost that amount in exotic automobiles plus I’m sure it will cost them millions to get out of their legal hassles.

You think people with that kind of money would be a little smarter.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 – World’s Fastest Production Car

Who isn’t a fan of the super fast supercar. (Hey, that sounds like a line from Shaft)Superfast would be defined as speeds above 200 mph and there are only a few cars in the world that have been built to exceed the 200 mph barrier. Cars that exceed that barrier also exceed the wallet barrier for all except the super rich who can afford to spend more than $250,000 and sometimes over $1,000,000 on something to drive.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is one of those rarefied examples of a car that most of us can only fantasize about. Tipping the cash register at a whopping $1.7 million for the 2006 version, most people would have to start a software company that makes the most used operating system on the planet and give billions to charity before we could justify owning one.

If you want fast though, and that’s what we’re talking about here, the Veyron is exotic fast. Faster than most cars that have ever set 4 tires on the track at Indy. We’re talking 253 mph fast. The Callaway Sledgehammer came in at 254 mph in 1988 but there’s only one of those and the speed wasn’t officially documented. The Veyron is a production car. Well, if you call 70 copies a year production.

Why is a car like this so expensive you ask. For starters you can’t just order parts from your local Autozone for a vehicle like this, everything has to be custom made, custom made to withstand 253 mph. What kind of expensive custom made parts go into the Veyron? How about 16 cylinders, 10 radiators, 4 turbochargers, and a huge 8 liter engine. It also has Michelin tires made specifically for the Veyron.

Not only does the Veyron go 253 mph it gets there quick too. Zero to 60 time is 3 seconds and 0 to 150 mph is an amazing 11 seconds.

There are a reported 14 Veyrons to be for sale in the United States so get your orders in early, that is if you have the $1.7 million to buy one.

So who gets to test drive one of these?
